As mentioned in my previous post, there are several projects I intend to take on this break. One of them is HDR (High Dynamic Range) photography. If you don't know HDR is an editing technique which creates an almost 3D like image. Here are a few images I created. I'm not sure if I'm happy with the outcome or not.

Coatimundi
I'm done with finals and am home for the holidays. This means a month of not worrying about school! YES!
This also means I can finally have time to do all of the photography experiments I've been dying to do. This break I would like to learn how to do mini stop motion movies (and actually make one), HDR, and work on portraits. There's a million others things I'd like to do, but I think I'm going to start off slow.
Here are some pictures of an animal called a coatimundi, native to Mexico. There were hundreds of them at the Iberostar Resort. They were very friendly and so fun to watch!

A Photo Club Adventure
During the stressful Finals weekend, the photo club decided to take a field trip to Mansfield Hallow Park to relieve some anxiety finals time brings. The weather was perfect that day and we all got some very interesting shots!
This is a shot of the lake in the park. It wasn't very cold that day, yet there was still a ton of ice on the water. this picture would be best viewed zoomed in. (click on it!)

There were people walking their dogs, and they let the doggies have a play date together, lucky for me, I had my camera to take pictures!
This dog's name is Beamer and hes a moonbeam Sheltie. He was the sweetest dog I've ever met! He was very playful, but when he would approach me with my camera he would just pose and stay perfectly still! The photo of the face is actually a cropping of the photo under it--I was able to capture great detail because of how still Beamer stood! Sunset time

Jerry Lewis, Shrek & Spider Man
Some quick final pics of the Iberostar performance.
I'm a bit bummed out with the fact that you can see all the heads in the pictures. I didn't have very good seats, so it really shows up in these pictures.

Tarzan
This was another performance at the Iberostar Del Mar, Mexico. It was a very moving and powerful performance; the actors danced incredibly!

Michael Jackson
another performance at Iberostar Del Mar. A great performance by a MJ look alike! He danced and looked just like him!
Alegria
This was another performance at the Iberostar Del Mar. This was by far my favorite. It was of the show Alegria by Cirque du Soleil and it combined a ton of different elements from the show. The dancers are so talented; all sorts of acrobatics and aerial silk dancing and ofcourse a fire thrower! It was amazing and the lead singer had an amazing voice and did a great job singing!
Here is the youtube link to the video from the original Cirque Du Soleil show!

Chicago
This is another act of the Iberostar Del Mar nightly entertainment. It was a skit from Chicago--"Both Reached for the Gun." Chicago is my favorite play so I was soo excited to see this remake, the dancers did a great job!
I shot all the performance pictures with my 100-300mm lens, and it definitely came in handy since the facility filled up fast and I had shoddy seats.

Love
During my trip to Mexico the resort would put on shows in the evenings for entertainment. On "Las Vegas" night they put on a great rendition of the Cirque Du Soleil show Love. This was a very brief (but incredible beautiful) part of a very long and very detailed show.
The first photo turned out to be one of my favorite photos from the trip, yet it was actually a "mistake." The beauty behind it is the detail in the dancers back, and the way his body separates the dark and the light. The black part of the photo that overtakes his body is actually a person in front standing up! I love the impact this has on the photo and the way the persons head actually shapes and gives curves to the dancer!
